Content Creation, Tech., Nigeria: What Do You Really Know?

Nigeria will teach you patience.

You see, I didn’t learn patience from motivational speakers or fancy courses. No. Nigeria taught me.

• Government queues? Banks? VISA processes? Patience. Patience. More patience.
Nigeria will sit you down, cross its legs, and say, “You cannot rush greatness… or anything else here.”

Then there’s tech.
Ah, tech.
Tech doesn’t just teach resilience; it baptizes you in it.

You’ll build something for 6 months… just for one small bug to scatter everything overnight.

You’ll ship a product today… and tomorrow there’s a new AI startup doing the same thing for free.

One moment you’re a unicorn; the next, your CEO is writing “We’ve made the difficult decision…” on LinkedIn.

Tech will teach you how to break down… wipe your tears… and still show up on Slack by 9am.

And then… content creation. My goodness.
Content creation is where your mental health will truly be tested.
You will post your heart out:
A beautiful carousel post with wisdom that should earn you a TEDx invite.

7 people will like it. 4 of them are your cousins.


You’ll write a thread so good, even you are impressed. Zero retweets. Not even a ghost to engage you.

At some point, you’ll look in the mirror and just start clapping for yourself.
“Wow. See this genius nobody is noticing.”

Because visibility is a slow grind. Engagement is moody. Validation is unreliable.
You learn to clap for yourself when no algorithm is clapping back.

But here’s the funny thing all these experiences are building something in you.
Patience sharpens your strategy.
Resilience builds your backbone.
Clapping for yourself keeps your fire alive until the world catches up.

So if you’re in Nigeria trying to build a tech career while posting content online… just know this:
You’re not crazy. You’re in training.
